Dreaming of learning to weave on a frame loom? Now's your chance to try your hand at frame weaving!
On this course, you'll gain a basic understanding of setting up and simple weaving techniques on a frame loom. We'll focus on sensory experience and immersion as we delve into the fascinating world of weaving. Experience the joy of creating something with your own hands!
The course is held at Copenhagen's weaving house, SKYTTEN, where you'll have the opportunity to work in an inspiring atmosphere. The teaching takes place in a room behind the shop. SKYTTEN's owner, archaeologist Maiken, will share exciting stories about the history of weaving.
Please bring your own frame loom, a weaving comb of 30-40/10, and two-ply wool yarn with a thickness of approximately 3.5-4.5 mm. During the course, we will prepare your weaving project, which you can then complete at home.
Smaller weaving tools will be available, so you'll have all the necessary equipment to get started. The shop will also be open if you wish to purchase yarn, materials, or additional tools during the course.
Instructor
Eva Lilja Jensen is a trained weaver from Kirsten and John Becker in Søllerød – and previously worked at the Tapestry Workshop, Rosenborg Castle. Today, she works as a conservator at the National Museum, and in 2025, she joined SKYTTEN as a weaver.
