About SAGITTERN DENMARK

A passion for craftsmanship and quality since 1985

SKYTTEN's history begins in 1985, when Linda passionately took up weaving as a creative hobby. Fascinated by the possibilities of the craft, she invested in a shaft loom and began to immerse herself in weaving techniques through dedicated instruction.

It quickly became clear to Linda that weaving required access to a wide range of materials – especially weaving yarn, which at the time was both difficult to find and limited in selection. This challenge became the starting point for a journey that would truly shape SKYTTEN's foundation.

In 1985, Linda founded the company SKYTTEN DANMARK. The first few years were marked by challenges, as it proved difficult to find suppliers willing to collaborate. However, through perseverance and targeted effort, Linda succeeded in building strong relationships and securing unique agreements with some of the world's most renowned suppliers of weaving equipment – including the prestigious brand Ashford.

This dedication and strategic approach laid the foundation for SKYTTEN's growth and position as a trusted player in the industry.

The only weaving store in Copenhagen
In 2025, Maiken took over ownership of SKYTTEN DANMARK and opened a physical store in the heart of Copenhagen. As the only weaving store in the capital, SKYTTEN quickly established itself as a unique weaving house with a focus on quality and tradition.

Maiken has a background as an archaeologist and school teacher and has built an extensive career in the museum world and education. Her passion for textile crafts, historical working methods, and sustainable use of natural materials forms the basis of SKYTTEN's vision.

With a deep fascination for historical craftsmanship and a modern approach to self-sufficiency, SKYTTEN offers a special experience for anyone interested in weaving and textile art.
